A tooth gem applied according to our office on a natural tooth should stay on until you decide to have it removed by your dental professional. This does depend on your oral care at home.1 month retention guaranteed, if the gem doesn’t last we will reinstall the gem with in the 30 days of installing.
How do I remove the tooth gem when I no longer want it?
When properly placed on a natural tooth, the tooth gem will not damage or harm your tooth in any way. This does depend of your oral care at home. If you are not properly brushing around the gem, it can increase the risk of decay. Consistent brushing and staying away from foods or liquids that can stain your teeth, if you’re a smoker or you drink coffee/ tea regularly make sure to brush your teeth after consumption if you can, brushing regularly should also be fine.
No, the presence of the tooth crystal will not make any difference regarding dental hygiene. However, it is recommended not to use an electric tooth brush for the first 24 hours after the gem has been attached as it may to too harsh and may have an effect on the retention period.
Our crystals have no sharp edges, they are very small so if this happens It will basically come out “the natural way.”
Crystal designs can last from one to three months to year plus.
Please be mindful that there are a few factors that can hinder the longevity of crystals, these include:
- Poor Oral Hygiene
- Acidity levels within the saliva
- Picking and playing against the crystal
- Abrasive and harsh brushing against the crystals
Crystals are simple and easy to maintain, after a few hours you don’t even notice that they are there!
